System C & Graphnet CTO elected to the board of INTEROPen
Simon Cavell, chief technology officer at the System C & Graphnet Care Alliance, has been elected to the board of the open standards body INTEROPen.
“Interoperability and open APIs based on FHIR standards are central to our strategy at the Care Alliance”, Simon said. “I am really excited to be joining the board of INTEROPen to help in the important task of accelerating the development of open standards for use right across health and social care.” Simon was elected by INTEROPen members to help represent the supplier community. The forum brings together individuals, industry, standards organisations and health and care providers to collaborate on the design and application of interoperability standards. Already an active member of INTEROPen, System C was also a founder member of the UK HL7 group and has integrated its systems with more than 2,000 deployed systems. More recently, the System C & Graphnet Care Alliance has implemented three of the four Transfers of Care FHIR outputs, developed a roadmap to offer FHIR APIs across all its health and social care products, integrated FHIR APIs to the new NHS England National Record Locator Service, and contributed to defining the social care ADW FHIR standard.
