SPH Analytics Announces MIPS Partnership with American Family Care

SPH Analytics, a leader in healthcare Triple Aim solutions for providers and health plans, announced today that American Family Care (AFC) recently selected the company’s Population Care™ | Quality Measures solution to manage and submit measures for its clinicians eligible for the new Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). AFC is the nation’s leading provider of urgent care, accessible primary care, and occupational medicine, with more than 180 clinics and 600 in-network physicians caring for nearly 3 million patients a year.

“At American Family Care our focus is on providing the best healthcare possible. In order to accomplish that, we need to give our providers the best tools available to enable them to manage quality without disrupting workflow. SPH Analytics’ Medicare QCDR Plus module completely manages the MIPS quality measure calculations and submissions for our providers and allows them to monitor performance, so they can identify care gaps throughout the year, enabling them to maximize the quality of care they deliver,” said Randy Johansen, President of AFC.

SPH Analytics’ Population Care | Quality Measures solution has modules for Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Payer reporting. AFC will implement the Medicare QCDR Plus module for managing and submitting MIPS quality measures to CMS. Medicare QCDR Plus extracts and aggregates clinical data from disparate EHR systems, calculates quality measures, and compares performance against CMS benchmarks. Medicare QCDR Plus is a Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR) for Medicare reporting. The solution helps providers gain visibility into their quality measure results throughout the year so proactive steps can be taken to help improve performance. The solution alleviates labor-intensive, manual processes for practices and providers, while enabling improvement in MIPS Composite Performance Scores for AFC’s MIPS eligible clinicians. With SPH Analytics’ MIPS Penalty-Free Guarantee, AFC is guaranteed to avoid any downward fee adjustments in 2019 from MIPS payment penalties*.

“SPH Analytics is proud to partner with AFC. Their model of ‘putting the patient first’, combined with our laser focus on client success, will ensure that their Population Care | Quality Measures implementation and 2017 MIPS submission is successful,” said Amy Amick, CEO of SPH Analytics. “We salute the commitment AFC physicians have to quality, and their desire to leverage proactive insights to maximize their effectiveness in caring for their patients. We are passionate about enabling value-based care and are delighted to help AFC manage their MIPS measures and submissions for value-based reimbursement.”

AFC will implement the Medicare QCDR Plus module of SPH’s Population Care | Quality Measures solution for the almost 300 providers in its corporately-owned locations throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. The solution will also be implemented nationwide for an incremental 500 providers in AFC’s franchise locations.

*With the MIPS Penalty-Free GuaranteeSM, SPH Analytics will credit 2017 MIPS penalties to the client. The Guarantee is only available to new SPH QCDR PlusTM clients. The Terms of the Guarantee must be incorporated in an executed agreement between Customer and SPH. Other terms and conditions apply.
